Week of 6/11/12-6/15/12

¡Qué viva México! Please support our 6th grade class as they represent México at tomorrow’s Olympic Day from 11-2pm at Roxbury Park. We will have a gymnastics presentation this Wednesday at 2:15pm to highlight next year’s after school program. All are welcome to join us at the 8th grade Baccalaureate Mass this Friday, 6/15/12 at 10:30am at Good Shepherd Church. Please congratulate our graduates!

This week, Religion 7 will finish Chapter 10 and present Chapters 11& 12 in class. Math 8/7 will Multiply Algebraic Terms. Religion 6 will present acrostic poems on the Old Testament. Spanish K will practice “Los Materiales Escolares” in preparation for graduation. Spanish 1-5 will learn about and practice salsa, merengue, and bachata dances. Spanish 6 will learn about the history of México in preparation for Olympic Day.

Week of 6/4/12-6/8/12

We’re almost there! All are welcome to join us at the next school Mass this Wednesday, 6/6/12. This Mass will be celebrated by Fr. O’Ryan and led by 2nd grade. Our annual Sports Awards Assembly will be this Thursday, 6/7/12 at 2:15pm.

This week, Religion 7 will finish Chapter 9: Eucharist. Math 8/7 will review for, take, and correct Exam 16 as well as focus on Order of Operations w/ Signed Numbers & Functions. Religion 6 will review for and take the Ch. 11 Test. Spanish K will practice “Los Materiales Escolares” in preparation for graduation. Spanish 1 will have a cumulative review session. Spanish 2-5 will review food vocabulary and make pico de gallo (salsa)! Spanish 6 will learn about the history of México in preparation for next week’s Olympic Day.

Student Council Elections Week is here yet again! All are welcome to listen to the candidates’ speeches this Wednesday, 5/23/12. Students will officially cast votes this Thursday, 5/24/12. I hope you all enjoy Monday off from school in celebration of Memorial Day!

This week, Religion 7 will finish Chapter 8: Confirmation and Baptism. Math 8/7 will review for, take, and correct Exam 15 as well as focus on Using Proportions to Solve Percent Problems and the Area of a Circle. Religion 6 will continue to focus on David’s Sin and the Story of the Fall. Spanish K-2 will learn about the 4 seasons (material found in previous post entitled “Las 4 Estaciones”). Spanish 3-5 will develop ideas for their skit project (verbs on pgs. 90 & 91 in Hola!). Spanish 6 will present group Spanish skits. Spanish 7 will focus on sports (pgs. 206-208 in Buen Viaje!).

This week, Religion 7 will finish Chapter 7: Reborn of the Spirit. Math 8/7 will focus on Quantitative Comparisons, Transformations, and Using a Compass. Religion 6 will focus on David’s SIn Through Prayer. Spanish K-2 will read and review Gilberto Y El Viento. Spanish 3-5 will culminate basic -AR verb conjugation. Spanish 6-7 will continue focus on developing ideas for their skit project.

Math 8/7 will focus on Exam 13 corrections, Implied Ratios, Multiplying and Dividing Signed Numbers, and Fractional Parts of Numbers (Part 2). Religion 6 will focus on The Early World: Genesis 1-11. Spanish K-2 will continue to focus on spelling colors. Spanish 3-5 will continue to focus on simple verb conjugation. Spanish 6-8 will take and review an assessment on time.
